On Monday, November 17, 2008 Charlie Marshall met with about 12 other preachers at the home of F.D. Johnson to pray for the healing of Mrs. Johnson.  F.D. Johnson is Pastor of the New Haven Baptist Church in China Grove, NC.  Bro. Marshall has preached at his church many times and considers him a good friend and a great teacher of the Word of God.  Mrs. Johnson has a serious cancer and we are continuing in prayer for the Lord’s will to be done.
                It was a very special night, the Spirit of God was present as is promised in Matthew 18:20, when Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the midst of them.”
                As the meeting was about to close, Bro. Marshall asked Brother Johnson if he could say something.  He said, “we have met here tonight because Mrs. Johnson is sick and needs healing.  We prayed together for her because we believe there is power in prayer.  Our country is sick and needs healing.  Why don’t we meet on Monday nights in our homes and pray for our Nation, our Nation’s leaders, our Nation’s churches and our Nation’s people.”
                All the pastors present were very much in agreement.  This was the beginning of the National Monday Night Prayer Gathering.

Mrs. Johnson went to her Heavenly Home on April 4, 2009.
